Comber Dams Project

damsA project to restore and rejuvenate an important part of Combers Industrial heritage by linking five dams with a wildlife corridor and community walks through to the Town centre.

The original plan to include 5 dams was presented to the Council and funding for a feasibility study was approved but this was subsequently withdrawn when 3 of the smaller dams located within the curtilage of the Mill Development had to be excluded due to ongoing development proposals.

The two remaining dams including  Laurel Bank Dam (owned by the Council) and the Mill Dam on Ballygowan Road (owned by the Andrews family) still have potential to achieve the main aims of the original plan. CRCP will therefore continue its work to take this project forward.
